Sunrise Yoga 🌟 Embrace the Magic of Morning Practice
Friday October 4, 2024 6:45am - 7:30am CDT
Carpe diem!  Embrace the magic as the sun peaks over the mountain top along side your fellow yogi friends, new and old.  Wake up with Cheryl to focus your awareness and spirit within your body through this gentle flow, establishing a soulful daily practice. We will begin slowly with meditation, incorporate mindful breathing, and transition between postures with ease.  It's a blissful experience where your mind, body, spirit, community, and nature come together as one. Sunrise at 7:07 am.

Invigorate and wake up with a morning practice. We will begin slowly so we can lubricate the joints and encourage ease of movement after a night's rest. This class will move through standing grounding poses, sweet half sun salutations and vinyasa sequences with lunges, twists and shoulder openers. Eventually, we make our way back down to the earth to continue to facilitate a sense of awareness to the body so that we can take this into the rest of our day. We will end with a short breath practice that is intended to enliven our body and a short savasana connecting us to the earth. This class is open to all levels and is intended to help you move into your day with ease.

Yoga Meets Strength Training: The Turkish Get-Up
Friday October 4, 2024 8:00am - 9:00am CDT
The Turkish get-up (TGU) is a comprehensive full-body exercise that will strengthen all the major muscle groups, increase mobility all throughout the body, and will improve conditioning or heart health. The TGU takes you from supine to standing with a weight in an overhead position – It is essentially loaded yoga and is highly accessible to yogis because the movements of the get-up will be familiar from yoga practice, and because the foundation for a good get-up is body awareness and breath. Come to this workshop to learn how to apply your yoga practice to a full-body strength training exercise that hits all the bases!  We will practice with blocks (provided) AND if you have a kettlebell or dumbbell at home, bring it and use it!

Sun Salutations 🌟 The Alexander Technique
Friday October 4, 2024 9:30am - 10:30am CDT
Practice a gentle Sun Salutation Flow in a new mindful way through the application of The Alexander Technique (AT). AT is not a technique per se, it is a methodology of moving that connects "thinking and doing". The methodology was developed by FM Alexander in the late 19th Century, and is used by actors, dancers, musicians, singers and athletes to find the most possible freedom in the body, and achieve maximum efficiency in the mind/body connection. The practice of AT retrains the body to change physical habits that may cause injury over time, and/or are interfering with the best possible use of our whole self.

Hard Conversations 101 πŸ’™ Deeper Levels of Love and Connection
Friday October 4, 2024 3:00pm - 4:00pm CDT
Conflict is a necessary part of improving and evolving relationships. In the heat of the moment, it is hard to see it this way, but conflict should be something that we all welcome and embrace because it is conflict resolution that leads us to deeper levels of love and connection with the people around us, whether they are our partners or family or coworkers or neighbors or even strangers. Hard conversations are a necessary part of conflict resolution, but many of us find ourselves avoiding hard conversations and landing in a minefield of resentment, anxiety, and stress because we are ill-equipped to lead a hard conversation and have a history of them not going well. This workshop is all about improving your relationships by leaving this avoidant behavior pattern behind and empowering yourself with the knowledge of how to have hard conversations. You will learn to be a better active listener and the seven steps of how to have hard conversations. Come ready to take notes and engage with others!
